Simona Halep v Caroline Garcia Head to Head

Simona Halep has reached the semifinal in four of her last five tournaments on the tour.

Earlier in the season, the former world number one bagged the winner’s silverware in Melbourne 1 and followed it with a fourth-round appearance in the Australian Open.
Ever since rejoining the fray following her recovery from the right shoulder injury last year, Halep’s resurgence has gone well. Towards the end of the season, she was a quarterfinalist in Moscow, the runner-up in Cluj-Napoca, and a semifinalist in Linz.
It seems to be a matter of time more than anything for the 30-year-old before she regains her place in the top 10.

Garcia, Still in a Rut
Caroline Garcia continues to battle her form woes and is in a freefall in the singles rankings. Currently ranked World No. 70, she has picked up just one win in the four tournaments played in 2022.
The 28-year-old featured in Dubai last week where Barbora Krejcikova knocked her out in the opener in straight sets – a result that echoed her quarterfinal exit to the Czech in Sydney.
Her other losses in the opening rounds have both come in Melbourne (Grand Slam and WTA 250) to Hailey Baptiste and Anastasija Sevastova.
Most of her last season is dotted with such results and the best she could manage was a solitary semifinal run in Lausanne.
