Kozlov Goes Past Grigor
Having made it to the quarterfinals at Delray Beach, also as a qualifier, Kozlov would have come into this tournament with some more confidence than usual but fell in the qualifiers to Oscar Otte.
As luck would have it, a few withdrawals from the competition allowed him to make it to the main draw and once there, Kozlov has already made a stunning start.
The American, going into his opener against Grigor Dimitrov at 5/2 odds to win it, shocked the Bulgarian player in three difficult sets. He won 7-6 (8), 5-7, 6-3 to make it to the second round, needing a whopping three hours and 18 minutes to complete an exhausting but satisfying win.
Against Nadal though, Kozlov would need to be well-rested and hope for an off day from his opponent to make any kind of a dent.
