Sebastian Korda v Thanasi Kokkinakis Head to Head

The pair have played each other once before, and that was just last month in the first round in Delray Beach, Korda winning easily in straight sets.

Korda Looking to Build on 2021 Achievements

This is the second time that Korda has appeared at Indian Wells, He reached the second round here in 2021, having earlier in the year reached his first Masters quarter-final in Miami, a performance that helped announce him to a wider world.

He would go on to win his maiden ATP title on clay in Italy and finish runner-up in the NextGen ATP finals.

The American is now looking to build on those achievements, and began the year well by reaching the third round of the Australian Open for the first time, and then making the quarter-finals in Delray Beach, where he was narrowly beaten by the eventual winner, Cameron Norrie.

He suffered the disappointment of losing in the first round in Acapulco, but did win his one singles match in the Davis Cup against Mexico at the weekend.

Kokkinakis More Well-Versed with Doubles?

Kokkinakis is better known as a doubles player, having won the Australian Open title in January with his great friend Nick Kyrgios.

However, reaching the semi-finals of the first tournament in Adelaide and winning the second one proves that he can perform in singles, even if his first round defeat in Melbourne suggests that consistency is an issue.

That was underlined by his first round defeat at the hands of Korda in Delray Beach as well.

However, he helped Australia progress in the Davis Cup last weekend over Hungary, and he carried that inspiration into the qualifying competition in Indian Wells, beating first Thomas Fabbiano of Italy, and then Vasek Pospisil of Canada, in straight sets to earn a rematch with Korda.

Korda v Kokkinas Prediction and Tip

Korda won their only previous match together easily enough last month, and there is little evidence to suggest the result will be any different this time..
