Kaia Kanepi v Magdalena Frech Head to Head

Magdalena Frech is off to a good start in the Charleston Open as she dismissed Petra Kvitova in straight sets. After taking the first set 7-6(6), she took a healthy lead with 3-2 before the Czech retired from the match due to illness.
Frech got a walkover into round two where she will look to dismiss Kanepi and reach the third round in a competition, for the first time this season.
Up until now, her previous stints have ended in early-round exits; Frech has never won more than one main-draw match in a WTA tournament. Her best run in this regard came at the Indian Wells Open where she reached round two as a qualifier.
The 24-year-old, who happens to be the current World No. 87, last played in Miami where she fell to Clara Burel in the opener.
Frech has some experience on clay and has won a few ITF titles on this surface. Perhaps, she can leverage that experience against Kanepi.

Kanepi Survives Rogers
Kaia Kanepi found herself in a long match against the local favourite Shelby Rogers; the Estonian eventually emerged as the winner with 6-7(2), 7-5, 6-2.
The 36-year-old is among the most experienced players on the WTA Tour at the moment, but her current ranking as #57 does not do justice to her career.
This season, Kanepi has been fairly impressive and has seen her fair share of big wins. In the Australian Open, she reached the quarterfinal for the first time in her career beating Angelique Kerber, Marie Bouzkova, Madison Inglis, and Aryna Sabalenka. In Indian Wells, she made it to the third round after upsetting Belinda Bencic.
Kanepi’s last tournament was in Miami where she reached the same stage – this time by beating Sara Sorribes Tormo.
Frech v Kanepi Prediction and Tip
Kanepi is rich in experience and has played some decent tennis this season; she will more than fancy her chances against Frech.
Expect this one to be a long game where Kanepi should come out on the top.
