Lorenzo Musetti v Benoit Paire Head to Head
They played once before and it came at the Miami Masters last year with Musetti winning 6-3 6-3.

Lorenzi Musetti will be glad that the seasons is shifting to clay, very glad. The Italian is a very good clay player and he will certainly become one of the best clay players in future years. It’s the surface that hosted him since he was a kid and there is a reason he led Novak Djokovic 2-0 at the French Open last year.
His game is an all-court game and it certainly can be good on other surfaces but consistency will be key. He did not have that consistency this year as he is 3-7 on hard courts and 7-9 overall. On clay, he’s 4-2 and that record should improve moving forward.
He’s a principality resident and he will look to win a match here as he takes on Benoit Paire who is neither motivated nor in good form. Musetti lost to Aslan Karatsev last year and he will want to avoid a similar fate this time around.

Benoit Paire Reckons He Loves Tennis
Benoit Paire loves tennis at least that’s what he keeps telling the world as his motivation fluctuates more than the New York stock exchange. Paire is a very talented player, he’s proven it many times but since the pandemic started he’s rarely been motivated to perform on a higher level.
Generally, it has to do with whether there are people in the stands as he always thrived when fans were into the match. He’s a showman first and foremost so it’s understandable to a degree. Last year he named the Court Rainer III one of the most beautiful in the world so with fans in attendance this year maybe we’ll see motivated Paire.
It would be good both for him and fans paying to watch him play. He’s 3-10 on the year and that certainly can be a bit better. He’s not that bad at this game he loves.
Musetti v Paire Prediction and Tip
I’m going to assume Paire will be motivated to play at least a little bit. He loves Monaco, he loves the court and he will have fans there. All of that should motivate him to at least give a damn and if he does it could be interesting. I still think Musetti will care more and I do think that will prevail.
The Italian has shown an affinity to complicate matters when he shouldn’t so I do think we might see three sets here. I don’t think it will matter much in the end as I still can’t back Paire in good faith. If he wins this match maybe I’ll believe him, until then back Musetti.
