Veronika Kudermetova v Ana Bogdan Head to Head
They played four times before with Bogdan leading 3-1. The most recent one was player in Instabul last year with Kudermetova winning 2-6 6-3 6-3.

Veronika Kudermetova has played some smashing tennis this year with the Russian posting a 16-7 record so far this year. The most recent events she played were the Sunshine double events in America where she played very good tennis. In Indian Wells, it was a quarterfinal exit to Paula Badosa while in Miami it was a 3rd round exit to Kvitova.
Most of the matches she played came on hard courts and the first match on clay happened yesterday and it was a good 6-2 6-0 thrashing of Marina Melnikova. Kudermetova is an excellent clay player as she went 14-4 on the surface last year with a trophy in Charleston.
She’s a longtime Istanbul player reaching the semifinal last year and two quarterfinals before. She simply loves playing at this event and the conditions allow her to impose her aggressive game from the get-go.

Bogdan the Tricky Veteran
Ana Bogdan has been on the Tour for a long time with the player known for her clay-court game and generally feistiness that gets her wins at times when she is not playing better than her opponent. This year so far it’s been rather good with an 11-4 record and some impressive wins.
Bogdan is a noted clay-court specialist and she played in the quarterfinal last year. To get there again she will need to take out last year’s semifinalist and that will be a very tricky thing. The Romanian player has had quite a bit of success against her opponent in the past and that should give her confidence.
The win over Ana Konjuh will also have a similar effect and we should expect her to give her best. There is also an added motivation of losing to Kudermetova at this event last year.
Kudermetova v Bogdan Prediction and Tip
So these two players have played four times before with Bogdan winning three times. The most recent one was played on clay, here in Istanbul last year. One should expect another competitive match as that one went to three sets with Kudermetova proving better.
Both have played rather well so far and that’s going to be great heading into this match as we will get a competitive match. I don’t see either winning in two sets and I think we will get three. What I do think will happen is that Kudermetova is simply the better player.
There is no questions about it and I’m very comfortable backing her to win this match. She’s been excellent all year long and generally, she rarely self-destructs and I don’t expect that to happen today. Take the Russian.
