Miomir Kecmanovic v Botic van de Zandschulp Head to Head

Their only meeting was earlier this year at Indian Wells and the Serb won in straight sets.

Kecmanovic Continues Strong Run

Miomir Kecmanovic has continued his strong run this season making a sixth consecutive quarter-final for the season.

After falling in the Round of 16 of his first three tournaments, the 22-year-old Serb has reached the last eight of the next five tournaments, but not progressed beyond.

The 2020 Kitzbuhel Open champion reached the last eight in Rio, Santiago, Indian Wells, Miami and Belgrade but lost on all occasions.

Up against number four seed Nikoloz Basilashvili, the Serb was off to a good start matching the Georgian game by game with the set headed for a tiebreak.

While the tiebreak looked to be at par early on, Kecmanovic upped the ante when needed and closed the set 7-5 in the breaker.

There was not letting go of the momentum as Kecmanovic broke early in the second and then broke again for a 6-2 win and securing a first semi-final spot of the year after five losses in the quarters.

Van de Zandschulp Scalps Ruud

Botic van de Zandschulp started well on the clay here in Munich and has continued that form into the weekend.  He had some notable wins on the surface last year as well  and came in more confident into the season after the good run at last year’s US Open.

The eighth seed started the week well with a confident win against Brandon Nakashima and followed it with another straight sets win against Belarusian Egor Gerasimov.

Coming into his quarter-final against Casper Ruud with a 1-0 head-to-head after his win at the USOpen, the Dutchman was still the underdog given Ruud’s expertize on clay.

It was a close first set with both players at par, before Van de Zandschulp broke late to close the set 7-5.

The Dutchman took total control thereafter with Ruud surprisingly continuing his poor clay form for a lopsided 6-2 second set win for Van de Zandschulp and a spot in the final eight.

Kecmanovic v van de Zandschulp Prediction and Tip

This promises to be a good battle between both in-form players. While the Dutchman has been in good form and will be boosted by the win against Ruud, Kecmanovic has been in good touch since early in the season.

Expect a close three- setter with the Serb prevailing.

Tip: Kecmanovic to win in straight sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
