Amanda Anisimova v Tereza Martincova Head to Head
They played two times before with Anisimova winning both of them. The most recent one happened last year the Canadian Masters with Martincova retiring down 1-6 3-4.

Amanda Anisimova has played some superb tennis this year and it’s been a joy to watch. The American si an electric tennis player when playing the way she can and this year, finally, she is showing it again. Clay can be kind to Anisimova as she played in the French Open semifinals as a teenager three years ago.
This season has been pretty good for her as she has a 17-7 record overall and a 7-2 record on clay with some stellar wins over Aryna Sabalenka and Victoria Azarenka in Madrid. She did lose to Ekaterina Alexandrova which is a match she probably should have won but she will be delighted that things are improving this year.
Rome presents an interesting challenge in Martincova who has been pretty good this year as well but she should be no match for Anisimova if the American plays the way she can.

Good Play in Rome From Martincova
Tereza Martincova had to go through the qualifiers in order to secure a spot in the main draw and she was successful in doing so by winning both matches. She dropped one set which is okay but she now understands the conditions better and that should suit her well.
The draw has not been that kind to her with Anisimova providing a very tough challenge. Martincova likes to attack and she generally does not do well against similar players. Raducanu had a field day against her in Madrid and Anisimova is capable of hitting as hard.
Martincova is not having a very good year with an 8-10 record but she is certainly capable of playing much better than this. It’s probably not going to come in Rome though.
Anisimova v Martincova Prediction and Tip
So these two players played twice and both times it was Anisimova who won. That is not by chance as she is simply the better player overall. She can play well on clay which is Martincova’s best surface and that’s not very good for the Czech player.
Anisimova also played much better this year and she’s in a far better form as well. I just don’t see a way Anisimova loses this one so back the American to win in two.
