Hungarian tennis player Anna Bondar has been having an incredible few months and has been rightly rewarded by current ranking being her career best ranking at 67.
She is 20-13 this year and 11-4 on clay. She had a stunning record of 47-16 on clay last year which included a maiden WTA Tour title in Buenos Aires.
Bondar recently made the semifinals in Karlsruhe where she lost to eventual champion Mayar Sherif. She also made the semifinals this week in Rabat but had to give a walkover as she suffered a minor shoulder injury.

Kvitova Hopes her First Clay Win Comes at the Biggest Stage
Czech Republic star Petra Kvitova has lost all three of her matches on clay this year. She will be hopeful her first win arrives at the most important clay tournament.
The former Wimbledon champion has had a poor start to her season with a 9-11 record this year. She did make a quarterfinal run in the Miami Masters however has not been able to find her best level at all.
Kvitova has a very good record at Roland Garros reaching the semifinals on two occasions, once in 2012 when she lost to Maria Sharapova and then two years ago in the 2020 event where she lost to Sofia Kenin.
Being seeded has not helped her much as she faces a very good opponent who is playing her career best tennis. However, being a grand slam champion, her overall game is a class above and she will hope she can hit her highest gear in Paris.
Bondar v Kvitova Prediction and Tip
A lot depends on how fit Bondar is. Being a shoulder injury, if she does step on court we should assume all is well else won’t be able to serve at all. This is a difficult match for Kvitova who has been set as the favourite. However great players find form in the biggest of events.
This should an evenly matched contest and should go on for two long sets or a three setter.
