Alexander Zverev v Sebastian Ofner Head to Head
Zverev won their only meeting at the 2017 Wimbledon.

Number three seed Alexander Zverev was a semi-finalist at the 2021 French Open losing a tight five-setter to fellow Next Gen Stefanos Tsitsipas.
While 2022 did not get off to the best of starts for the German with a week one loss at the Aussie Open and an unimpressive showings at the Sunshine Masters , Zverev did hit form during the European clay swing.
Zverev made the semi-finals at Monte Carlo and although a shock first round loss at home in Munich against Holger Rune followed, he did well at both the Madrid and Rome Masters 1000s making the finals and semis respectively.
In a half of the draw at Roland Garros with Djokovic, Nadal and Alcaraz, the number three seed will be hoping to hit form early in the fortnight as the battles will get more difficult come week two and he will be aware that he needs to keep plenty in the tank for that.
An opening round match against Sebastian Ofner awaits, as Zverev will be hoping for a routine encounter to get things started.

Can Ofner Push Zverev?
Austrian Sebastian Ofner has made it past the qualifiers for a Grand Slam for the second time in his career.
His only other Grand Slam appearance was at the 2017 Wimbledon where he went on a bit of a run making the third round on slam debut and upset American Jack in a five set thriller in the second round.
Ofner followed Wimbledon with another surprisingly good run at his home tournament in Kitzbuhel later in the same month making the semi-finals.
A regular name on the ATP Challenger Tour, Ofner won his maiden Challenger Title in 2018 and has performed well on the tour thereafter.
The Austrian has appeared in a few Challengers this season as well and made the quarter-finals and finals earlier this month evidencing his liking for clay.
With nothing to lose on his French Open debut, expect Ofner to give it his best and it remains to be seen if that can be enough to push Zverev.
Zverev v Ofner Prediction and Tip
Zverev has looked good on clay making the final weekend at all three Masters 1000s despite not winning any titles. Having come through Challengers and qualifiers, Ofner is not quite at the same level as the German.
Zverev to win in straight sets relatively untroubled.
