Victoria Azarenka v Jil Teichmann Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came at the Australian Open earlier this season in which Azarenka ran past Teichmann in straight sets to enter the third round.

It was a tough first round initiation for Azarenka in this year’s French Open but there were no such difficulties when she got past Andrea Petkovic in the second.
Having needed three sets and two tie-breakers in the opening round, Azarenka registered a 6-1, 7-6 (3) victory over Petkovic in an hour and 49 minutes to move to the round of 32.
Azarenka did not allow Petkovic to settle in the first set, breaking her opponent in the very first game of the match and then repeating the dose in the fifth and the seventh game of the set.
Petkovic did respond with a first break of her own in the third game of the second set and had a chance to serve it out at 5-4. Azarenka fought back to level things out, missed out a match-point at 6-5 on her opponent’s serve before closing it out in the tie-breaker that followed.
Interestingly, Azarenka faced just two break points in the entire match and was broken both times while dishing out five breaks of serve from the 17 opportunities she got.
Things could get a lot tougher against her next opponent though.

Teichmann Makes it 10-3 on Clay
Teichmann had never made it past the first round at French Open before this. This time around, she is already in the third round and by the looks of things her showing is far from over.
The Swiss player, who is at her career best ranking of 24th in the world, won her 10th match of the year on clay to go with just three defeats.
And for the second match in a row at Roland-Garros, Teichmann was in no mood for nonsense, killing off the contest in an hour and 19 minutes. She defeated Olga Danilovic 6-4, 6-1 despite getting broken three times in the encounter.
Teichmann had earlier routed Bernarda Pera 6-2, 6-1 in the first round and should be ready to ward off the Azarenka threat given the force of her form.
