Maria Sakkari v Rebecca Marino Head to Head

World No. 5 Maria Sakkari began her grass season with a clinical, 6-2, 6-3 win over Camila Osorio. The Greek served eight aces and had a 78 percent first service win rate as she dominated the match all over.
Even though she is yet to prove herself on grass, Maria has got the skillset and dexterity needed to fare well. Moreover, as the top seed in Nottingham, her path to the final is effectively free of any major roadblocks. The 26-year-old has reached the quarterfinal (and lost) in all of her appearances here and there is no reason why it may not be the case again.
Another motivation for her would be to make up for her disappointing clay spell where her key point was reaching the quarterfinal in WTA Rome. She lost early in Madrid and Paris.
Sakkari was a lot more efficient on the hard courts where she reached the final in St. Petersburg and Indian Wells Open (lost respectively to Anett Kontaveit and Iga Swiatek).

Marino Now 28-9
31-year-old Rebecca Marino is enjoying quite a revival in her career. She started in Nottingham with a 6-4, 6-4 win over the British qualifier Eden Silva; with that, she has improved her tally to 28-9.
Although most of her success has come on the ITF Tour, the Canadian will be more than happy with the momentum she has built. Marino reached three finals on the circuit, going the distance in one of them – all on hard courts.
As for her heroics on the WTA Tour, they are rather limited to only the biggies (with only three events to show for). She last played in French Open where she cleared the qualifiers before losing to the eventual runner-up Cori Gauff.
Marino v Sakkari Prediction and Tip
Sakkari is the clear favourite here; she is in form and has played some remarkable tennis this season. On paper, she shouldn’t face a lot of troubles in overcoming Marino but the veteran Canadian may have a few aces up her sleeve. All in all, this should be a good game of tennis.
