Felix Auger-Aliassime v Tallon Griekspoor Head to Head

Auger-Aliassime leads the head-to-head 1-0, having defeated the Dutchman in the qualifying rounds of the US Open in 2018.

Canadian Looks to Bounce Back from Paris

Felix Auger-Aliassime became just the third man to push Rafael Nadal to five sets at the French Open. But just like the two men before him, he suffered a final set heartbreak as Nadal came roaring back to win their thrilling fourth-round match.

The Canadian had been living on the ropes in his first-round match, coming back from two sets down to defeat Peruvian qualifier Juan Pablo Varillas.

And since that encounter, he restored some semblance of consistency in his game and won his next two matches slightly more routinely. Ironically, he had never won a main draw match at Roland Garros prior to this year.

In the fourth round, he was matching Nadal in terms of intensity and physicality. And for over four hours, there was little to separate the two players with the 21-year-old’s confidence rising so rapidly at the possibility of an upset.

However, Nadal dug deep and got the crucial break in the decider to repel any danger. And the rest as they say is now history. For Auger-Aliassime, there is no time to rest on his laurels, with the grass-court season beginning in earnest for him at this week’s Rosmalen Championships.

Griekspoor Clinical Against Bedene

Tallon Griekspoor made a winning start to his grass-court season, beating World No. 161 Aljaz Bedene 7-5 7-5. In just his second visit to his home tournament, the Dutchman made amends from his 2017 early exit, as he dominated the Slovak in a closely-contested opening round.

The first set stayed on serve, with Bedene fending off a pair of break points in a lengthy eighth game, until the 12th game of the set. Bedene, whilst serving to take the set into a tiebreak, was broken to love.

The second set was a mirror result of the first as both players stayed impregnable on serve. Griekspoor in particular did not face a single break point on his own serve. Bedene caved in, in another pressure moment in the last game of the match.

For Griekspoor it was just the fifth win on the pro tour on grass and serves him nicely for a more difficult test against the second seed.

Auger-Aliassime v Griekspoor Prediction and Tip

Auger-Aliassime will need to be wary of the threat the Dutchman poses on the slick pristine grass. If Griekspoor can recreate his good serving numbers from his last match, he should keep things close.

Tip: Over 21.5 games in the match: 6/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
