Andy Murray v Stefanos Tsitsipas Head to Head

This will be the second meeting between both players. Their only meeting was an intense five-setter in the opening round of the 2021 US Open which was won by Tsitsipas.

Tsitsipas Eyes Grass Success

It has been a good season overall for Stefanos Tsitsipas. It started well Down Under with a semi-final run at the Aussie Open followed by the Rotterdam final and semis at Acupulco.

Although the Sunshine Masters were unimpressive, the Greek made a good return on the clay winning the Monte Carlo Masters 1000, semi-finalist in Madrid and runner-up in Rome.

With a favorable draw at the French Open, Tsitipas disappointed with a fourth round exit to teenager Holger Rune.

Not having won a match on grass since 2019, the top seed must have felt the nerves coming into Stuttgart but after a first round bye, looked in good touch for a 6-3,6-4 win against rising Swiss Dominic Stricker.

Murray Holds Off Bublik

Andy Murray, former world number one has been on the comeback trail since his hip surgery for a couple years now.

While he has pulled off some convincing wins against highly ranked players, the Briton still has not managed to exhibit the necessary stamina to take the run deep into tournaments.

This season has seen him make the finals at Sydney Down Under being runner-up to Aslan Karatsev, but the rest of the year has followed a similar trend of early losses after a good opening round win against the likes of Nikoloz Basilashvili and Alexander Bublik.

The 2016 French Open runner-up played at the Madrid Masters on clay and did well to defeat Dominic Thiem in the opener and followed it with a win against Denis Shapovalov but then withdraw ahead of his quarter-final against Novak Djokovic.

The former world number one is a two-time Wimbledon champion and always been a force to reckon with on the grass.

After a convincing straight sets win against Aussie Chris O’Connell, Murray was up for a tricky encounter against Kazakh Alexander Bublik.

It was all Murray with a 6-3 first set and an early break to go up 2-0 in the second. However, the Briton had a dip and Bublik went on a five game run to go up 5-2 and even have set point to level the match.

A strong Murray fightback followed to take the match into a tie-break and close 7-4 and set up a mouth-watering Tsitsipas clash.

Tsitsipas v Murray Prediction and Tip

This promises to be a good encounter especially after the US Open match that had some spicy moments.

Murray is comfortable on the grass and Tsitsipas has not had the most success on this surface yet.

Expect a classic with the younger Tsitsipas legs prevailing in a decider.

Tip: Tsitsipas to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
