Ons Jabeur v Cori Gauff Head to Head

The tally stands at 3-1 to Gauff; they last met in the French Open 2021 where the American won in straight sets.

Jabeur Survives Sasnovich

Top seed Ons Jabeur had to work hard to earn her semifinal ticket on Friday as she battled past Aliaksandra Sasnovich 6-7(3), 6-2, 6-2. It was smart game management from the Tunisian who stepped up handsomely after losing the first set by a close margin.

Her preceding victims in the tournament were Karolina Muchova and Alycia Parks – both of whom she dispatched in straight sets. With these wins, Jabeur has improved her tally to 28-9 this season.

Ons has had an impeccable year so far with three big finals across Charleston, Madrid, and Rome. During these tournaments, she has beaten a handful of big names like Maria Sakkari, Simona Halep, Amanda Anisimova, Belinda Bencic, and Jessica Pegula. In fact, on the back of this consistency, she ascended to her career-best ranking as World No. 4.

Jabeur has also got a decent grass pedigree; she won the Birmingham Classic last year and later reached the quarterfinal at Wimbledon. And given her massive experience, she is capable of upsetting Gauff too.

Gauff, Clinical as Usual

18-year-old Cori Gauff may be untested on the grass surface but early indications state that she is just as good as here.

On Friday, she fired warning shots ahead of the Wimbledon soon by knocking out the former world number one Karolina Pliskova 7-5, 6-4.

That match lasted for just an hour and 38 minutes and saw the teenager dish out five aces and keep an impeccable 74% first-service win rate. She also saved an incredible four set points in the first set to stay in control.

Fresh off the French Open runner-up feat – where she won all of her matches in straight sets before losing to Iga Swiatek in the final – the American has done well to keep the same tempo during the switch in courts.

This week, she is yet to drop a set as she moved past the likes of Ann Li and Xinyu Wang. As the new World No. 13, Gauff is cruising high on confidence and has an impressive record against the top 20 players.

Having started to dominate hard and clay courts, it is not really surprising to see her do well on grass too. Coco is already 23-11 and shows no sign of slowing down.

Jabeur v Gauff Prediction and Tip

On paper, Jabeur should win this one on account of her experience and overall form this season. Gauff still has ways to go but she has already proven herself to be a commanding opponent.

The match may go to three sets and Ons will be tested but considering her grass experience and the clinical backhand slice she is known for, she has the edge on the surface.

Tip: Jabeur to Win, Over 20.5 Games: 8/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
