Berrettini Brushes Aside Paul

Defending champion Matteo Berrettini extended his winning streak to seven matches as he made quick work of Tommy Paul in the quarterfinal of the Queen’s Club Championships on Friday.

The Italian, who won the Stuttgart Open title last week, was slow off the blocks, as Paul broke early to take a 0-3 lead, but once Berrettini got going, there was no stopping him. The World no. 10 won five games in a row to claim the first set. He continued to pile pressure on Paul in the second set, breaking the American two more times and clinching the match 6-4, 6-2.

This was a much easier outing for the second seed than his round of 16 win over another American Denis Kudla. The Italian had lost the first set, but he fought back to seal a three-set win.

Berrettini had beaten Dan Evans in straight sets in the opener.

Last year’s Wimbledon runner-up, Berrettini is 18-1 on grass courts since 2021. Overall he has a 31-6 record on grass, which includes a total of three titles. Can he keep his winning streak going on Saturday?

Van de Zandschulp Dispatches Davidovich Fokina

Munich Open finalist Botic Van de Zandschulp is a one away from a second final of the season after he put up a solid performance on Friday to oust Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the quarterfinal.

Van de Zandschulp, who had won just one grass court match before the start of the tournament, has won three this week to reach a maiden semifinal on the surface.

The World no. 29 had a tough start to the tournament needing three sets to beat Britain’s Paul Jubb in the opening round. He got better in the Round of 16, knocking out Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets, and put up an even better display in the quarterfinal, defeating Daviovich Fokina 6-2, 6-4.

The 26-year-old Dutchman converted four of six break points while getting broken just once in the match. Having constantly improved with the tournament he will be confident going into the semifinal.

Berrettini v Van de Zandschulp Prediction and Tip

Berretini is in red-hot form. It will be a huge ask for Van de Zandschulp to even take a set of the Italian. Expect the second seed to advance with a straight sets win.

Tip: Berrettini to win in straight sets: 8/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
