Ajla Tomljanovic was playing a very strong event in Nottingham yet ran into a red-hot Viktorija Golubic who proved better. The Aussie player opted for a little break as she had some physical issues in that match and now she’s back to playing again.
The Australian has always been fairly solid on grass and she reached the quarterfinal at Wimbledon last year. She wants to play a couple of more matches to properly prepare for that event. Krunic is a tough proposition for Tomljanovic on grass.
The Serbian is excellent on this surface but Ajla will look to improve that 14-15 season. Last year she played better and this year it’s been less good but perhaps being back on grass will prove comforting for her. She had some decent wins over Wang and Boulter in Nottingham.

Strong Qualifiers From Krunic
Aleksandra Krunic had to play the qualifiers to get into the main draw but she did not mind. It gave her confidence due to scoring some huge wins over players like Caty McNally and Rebecca Marino. Both of these players are very good on grass so the wins where impressive.
Krunic herself is very good on this surface because she holds a career of 30-20 on the surface. She finally found a good level this year again on grass after not playing that well on it last year. It’s been a weaker year so far than last year but she’s generally progressing as a player.
They are the same generation so this matchup should be an interesting one. Both have beaten each other before and both are pretty good on grass. Kurnic played last week in Birmingham and she played quite good so she should be in better tennis form here.
Tomljanovic v Krunic Prediction and Tip
Both of these players can beat each other on this surface and it’s generally very hard to call a matchup like this. Krunic played last week so that’s a bonus for her. She also played in the qualifiers and that’s another bonus. Tomljanovic, I think is the better player so that’s a point for her.
The H2H is 1-1 so that’s a point for neither. Both are having an okay year so again a draw. The best bet in this one would probably the over because I see this going the distance. I’m really not sure who might win this one as it’s quite literally 50-50.
I think I’ll back Krunic in this one simply because she played more recently and Tomljanovic might need more time to find a good rhythm.
