After starting out her grass court campaign for the season with a second round appearance in Berlin a week ago, Andreescu will now hope to go one better this time around.
Andreescu, who had lost to Karolina Pliskova in that second round match, will look to make it two wins in a row when she takes on Briton Swan. This was after she registered a walloping 6-3, 6-1 win over Martina Trevisan in her opener.
In a match lasting an hour and 16 minutes, Andreescu got the better of Trevisan despite getting broken once apiece in both the sets.
The Canadian player exchanged a break of serves in the first set before helping herself to two more in the seventh and the ninth game to take the lead. In the second, she raced off to a 4-0 lead before losing her serve but by then the match was long gone from Trevisan’s grasp.

Swan Stuns Stephens
After cruising past Tamara Korpatsch in the qualifying rounds of this tournament, Swan went on to surprise Sloane Stephens in the first round to seal her place next to Andreescu.
Swan overcame a first set thrashing at the hands of Stephens to register a 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 win that was her first for the season in the main draw of any WTA event.
In a match that lasted nearly two hours, Swan was slow off the blocks and had dropped the first set before she knew it. Both players struggled with their serves in the first four games of the second set, getting broken each time before Swan got herself a decisive break in the seventh.
She moved 2-0 ahead early in the final set and then broke again in the seventh game before serving it out off her fourth match-point.
