Brandon Nakashima played 10 matches on grass ahead of Wimbledon winning 7 of those. That’s some pretty solid preparation for Wimbledon where he lost in round one before.
Nakashima has a solid game that is tailor-made for hard courts but it can work on grass as well. He needs to get better and some things but being only 21-year old bodes well for the American who made huge strides this year. He’s 18-16 on the year and 7-3 on grass.
He defeated Sam Querrey twice in those 10 matches and that are some solid wins. He lost to Adrian Mannarino in Den Bosch, Cameron Norrie in Eastbourne and Andy Murray in Surbiton. Neither of those losses is terrible and all are somewhat expected.
Nakashima took a set off of Fritz last year in round on I expect him to finally get a win this year around. How far he can do largely depends on the draw and his play.

Kuhn Smashes the Qualifiers
Nicola Kuhn has been playing much better tennis ever since changing the Spanish Flag for the German one. A very talented player it simply still did not click as well as it needs to for Kuhn but he played the Wimbledon qualies pretty well.
Only one set was dropped en route to his first Wimbledon main draw appearance. The 22-year-old will try and earn some points to better his ranking which is still outside of the top 200. He really needs to find a way to earn points because he is too talented to be so lowly ranked.
The year has been okay with an 11-13 record so there lies the problem. A lack of consistency for Kuhn is something he needs to figure out because it’s vital for a tennis player. Perhaps these 3 wins on grass will finally get him there. After all, he is 5-3 on grass all the time.
Nakashima v Kuhn Prediction and Tip
Here we have two very young tennis players whose game hasn’t even matured yet properly. One is far more successful because he has more talent albeit neither has unlocked their full potential. Nakashima is far more consistent and in a bo5 match o grass that will be vital.
Kuhn can play well on grass and he’ll certainly have his moment but I don’t see him being the more stable player over the course of the match. He would need to be if he hopes to win but he won’t win.
