Stephens Made Last Eight in 2013

Stephens best performance at Wimbledon was back in 2013, when she made the quarter-finals. She has also got four third round appearances since to her name.

The American had started to drift down the rankings, but winning the Mexico Open in February, her first tournament victory for nearly four years, helped to arrest the slide.

And she continued her mini resurgence by reaching the quarter-finals of the French open, before losing to compatriot Coco Gauff.

She has only played one match since then, beaten by the British player Katie Swann in the first round of Bad Homburg.

Chinese Teenager Zheng Makes Wimbledon Debut

One of the bunch of talented teenagers threatening to dominate the sport in the years to come, Zheng only made her Grand Slam debut at Melbourne in January, reaching the second round.

She did even better at the French Open, making the fourth round, and beating Simona Halep in the process.

She then chose to stay on clay, winning a Challenger event in Spain.

Her switch to grass has so far been unsuccessful. She was beaten in the first round in Berlin, and again in Eastbourne last week.

Stephens v Zheng Prediction and Tip

Neither woman has won a grass court match between them so far this year, but if Stephens can find a semblance of the form that once made her a quarter-finalist here, she should prevail.
