Jabeur in Brilliant Form

It seems like the moment for the new World No. 2 Ons Jabeur is finally here. After priming herself for ultimate glory on the tour, she has now got the chance to do so in London.

The Tunisian arrived in London with a tally of 30-9 and four tour finals – title in Madrid and German Open, and runner-up feats in Charleston and Rome. She also played in the quarterfinal in Sydney and Dubai, and has beaten a good chunk of top players on the WTA circuit.

Given her incredible consistency across the three surfaces, it was only a matter of time before she got around to adding her name to a major.

Last week, the number three seed delivered straight-set wins over Mirjam Björklund, Katarzyna Kawa, Diane Parry, and Elise Mertens. Ons has been absolutely flawless in these matches; with every win, her conviction to claim the crown at SW19 is all the more strengthened.

Her path to the final is all but clear with her next opponent set to be either Jule Niemeier or Tatjana Maria – both nowhere close to Jabeur’s level of play.

A Historic Feat for Bouzkova

Marie Bouzkova, current World No. 66, has delivered her best Grand Slam results by reaching the quarterfinal in London.

Her campaign entailed wins over the number seven seed Danielle Collins in three sets. Thereafter, the bracket was wide open for the Czech as she upset Ann Li, Alison Riske-Amritraj, and Caroline Garcia – all in straight sets.

Up until now, Marie’s season’s highlights have been a runner-up feat in Guadalajara and round three stints (as a qualifier) in the Indian Wells Open and Madrid Open. In these events, she did beat a few big names like Jessica Pegula and Karolina Pliskova.

However, consistency hasn’t been that big a part for the 23-year-old as she lost early in the French Open and the Eastbourne International. Nonetheless, Bouzkova has some decent experience with a doubles title in Istanbul this season (the third one of her career), 16 ITF finals, and two junior Grand Slam finals.

Bouzkova v Jabeur Prediction and Tip

This match has Jabeur written all over it. Given her form and composure, it is hard to imagine her fall to the likes of Bouzkova. The Czech may put up a fight but the Tunisian should prevail ultimately.
