Ons Jabeur v Elena Rybakina

This might not have been the final that many thought we would get but it’s a final between deserving players. Ons Jabeur played a very strong event to get to the final and she’s the slight favourite in this one. It’s only natural, she leads the H2H 2-1 against Rybakina having beaten her twice last year.

None of these matches came on grass and that’s the question. Rybakina’s games is based upon her devastating serve which gives her a lot of free points on grass. It also sets her up for short rallies which is how she likes her tennis to be. Jabeur will need to return well in this one and she’s capable of it.

Her variety and slices will also be crucial for her as well as her drop shots that could throw Rybakina off her rhythm. Both of them have had strong years overall but Jabeur has been on another level. Winning Wimbledon would be a crowning achievement for her and I think she might do it.

She’s the type of player Rybakina would not want to play because her variety can really make things complicated for the big-serving Rybakina. If she is forced to move a lot it could drain her of energy needed to sustain her hard-hitting game. Expect a close three-setter but also Jabeur to win.

Tip: Jabeur to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Mektic/Pavic v Purcell/Ebden

Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic have been the best doubles pairing in the world last year. The Croatians snatched several high-profile trophies being practically unbeatable for a very long time. Now they are in the Wimbledon final but they face a very tough challenge from Purcell and Ebden who has been spectacular on the grass.

The Australian pairing has played superb tennis to get here and it was not easy. A couple of their matches went the distance but they were able to sustain a very high level in spite of that. They work really well in sync and it’s just been a wonderful journey for the 14th seeds.

Obviously, the 2nd seeds are the better pairing overall but this fairytale run by the Aussies is very hard to stop. Pavic has also been dealing with some sort of injury sustained in the mixed doubles event so that’s another one to keep track of. The final is a best of 5 which I think will favour the Aussie because their level remains fairly stable as the match goes on.

I think the Croatians will most likely win because they have done it last year. Expect a close one but I think the Croatians will repeat at Wimbledon.

Tip: Pavic & Mektic to win in four: 4/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
