Diane Parry is having a major breakthrough season since her stunning first round victory in the French Open against then defending champion Barbora Krejcikova.
She reached the third round of the French Open and then followed it up with a semifinal finish in WTA Gaiba and another Grand Slam third round in Wimbledon.
The 19 year old has been a highly talented teen fully backed by the French Tennis Federation ever since the juniors. She played her first match in the French Open as a 16 year old having received a wild card.
Parry is a clay court specialist. She game style is built very similar to the game of Dominic Thiem and is among the a rare group of WTA players with a single backhand.
The French star takes part in Hamburg for the first time. She last played in Lausanne last week where she pushed Belinda Bencic to three sets.

Davis Arrives on the Back of Semifinal Run in Bastad
Lauren Davis, once the world number 26 had struggled in the tour in the last two years and slipped down the rankings. However she has fought back and so far has had a decent season with a 18-16 record on all surfaces.
She takes part in Hamburg for the first time in her career. She played two clay tournaments in the build up, making a semifinal appearance in Bastad before crashing out in the first round in Lausanne.
The semifinal in Bastad was her first semifinal this year. She has had notable results in Adelaide reaching the quarterfinal and then in the Miami Masters she reached the third round as a qualifier.
Davis is more comfortable on hard courts and grass but can adjust her game on clay as she evidently did in Bastad. She is 7-6 on clay this season and is currently ranked world number 96.
Parry v Davis Prediction and Tip
Both players are in good form heading into Hamburg despite their first round exits in Lausanne. Parry is a very talented player with a wide range of skill set whereas Davis is a gritty veteran. Should be a tough battle but Parry should be able to get over the line with her all round ability.
