Nuria Parrizs-Diaz v Ana Bogdan Head to Head

The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the 31 year old Spaniard, and the Romanian, who is two years younger.

A classic case of the late developer, Parrizas-Diaz has yet to demonstrate the same form in 2022 as she showed last year when she won two WTA 125k titles, and appeared in five finals on the ITF tour, winning four of them.

However, she is now regularly appearing and being seeded for WTA events, a novelty after her years of slogging around on the junior tours.

One of those players glad to have clay under their feet again, she endured a miserable grass court season, losing every match she played.

And her return to clay did not start well either, with a first round defeat in Lausanne.

She fared better in Palermo, reaching the quarter-finals before losing to the local woman, Jasmine Paolini.

Bogdan’s Successes Limited to ITF Tour

Bogdan reached her only Challenger final last December, losing to the Belgian player Alison van Uytvnck in Limoges.

She has enjoyed success on the ITF tour though, and won her 14th title in France in January.

On the main tour she reached the second round at Wimbledon, and then the same stage in Budapest.

Her challenge in Palermo did not het beyond the first round stage though. She was beaten by the world number 41, Sara Sorribees-Tormo, in straight sets,
