Fabio Fognini v Daniel Elahi Galan Head to Head

Fabio Fognini is going astray and slipping down the rankings quick. He has not been able to make deep runs and is only 15-15 on all surfaces this year.
However, the Italian star returns to a place where he has been extremely successful. He won the title in Umag in 2016, finished runner up in 2013 and has reached the semifinal on three previous occasions.
Fognini was in the top 10 of the world rankings not too long ago. But has as inconsistency peaked over the last 12 months, he is now ranked 61.
The only positives he has is his highlights this year has been reaching the semifinal in Rio de Janeiro (ATP 500) and Belgrade (ATP 250), both on clay. He has always known to be a clay court specialist and playing on the last clay tournament of the year, he will be hoping to make a mark.
Fognini had taken part in Hamburg last week and had reached the second round where he was outplayed by Karen Khachanov.

Galan Debuts In Umag
Daniel Elahi Galan will take part in Umag for the first time in his career. He arrives here ranked 113 in the world and hence didn’t have to take part in the qualifiers.
Galan has picked up good form in the build up to ATP Umag. He qualified to the main draw of ATP Hamburg last week coming through the qualifiers.
The Colombian defeated Argentine Star Federico Coria in straight sets in the first round of Hamburg and lost to Aslan Karatsev in a grueling three setter in the second round.
Galan is 29-15 on clay this year and had actually started out the year winning the Concepcion challenger, reaching the quarterfinal in ATP Cordoba and then winning the Sarasota challenger.
He is currently in his best form since wining the challenger title in Sarasota and will actually be happy with the draw he has received here.
Fognini v Galan Prediction and Tip
This match will be on Fognini’s racket. Galan has a very clean and stable game, doesn’t hit many unforced errors whereas if Fognini starts finding winners, there won’t be any stopping him. Very even match, should go the distance.
