Zheng Readies For Success in America
Qinwen Zheng is having a breakthrough season having broken into the top 50 of the world quite recently. She is 27-12 on all surfaces this year and has put up some impressive performances in last couple of months.
The 19 year old defeated former grand slam champion Simona Halep in the French open this year and was the only player to take a set off Iga Swiatek in that tournament.
She won the WTA Title in Valencia soon afterwards and then reached the third round in Wimbledon where she lost to eventual champion Elena Rybakina.
The Chinese future star is extremely talented and has a very attacking brand of tennis. She is has a strong serve too and is a player capable of going toe to toe with Osaka from the baseline.
Zheng will take part in the San Jose Open for the first time in her career. She is 16-6 on hard courts this year and will like the fast courts here in California.
