Veronika Kudermetova v Shelby Rogers Head to Head
There have been two previous outings between Kudermetova and Rogers and both have won one apiece. Both matches came in hard court competitions.
Rogers won the first in Adelaide last year in straight sets before Kudermetova avenged that loss in Miami earlier this season.

She was a whopping 9/5 coming into her quarterfinal against the Wimbledon runner-up Ons Jabeur but the manner of Kudermetova’s win was something that should keep her in a good stead over this US Open Series.
After a one hour, 43 minute long battle, Kudermetova registered a 7-6 (5), 6-2 victory over her much-fancied opponent to make the semifinal.
Kudermetova, who had earlier overcome Camila Giorgi and Claire Liu in the first couple of rounds, broke Jabeur early but was broken right back and the set went into a tie-breaker.
The Russian clinched that and then broke Jabeur a couple of times to slam home the advantage against a hapless Jabeur.
Can Kudermetova now get past a player who has already taken down three of the better players on the women’s circuit in this tournament?

Rogers Makes it Three Straight-Sets in a Row
Consistency has been Rogers’ career enemy but in this tournament she has shown what she is capable of if she can get her act together.
Because after sending out Bianca Andreescu and Maria Sakkari in the first two rounds of this competition and in straight sets at that, Rogers wasted no time in getting past another in-form American, Amanda Anisimova.
Rogers won the quarterfinal 6-4, 6-4 in an hour and 22 minutes to seal her spot in the semis next to Kudermetova.
The American faced just one break-point in the entire encounter while taking down Anisimova’s serve on three occasions, including once when she was down 0-2.
Can Rogers now get that one step closer to winning her first ever WTA title as she aims to make it to her third WTA final, first on hard court and first in more than six and a half years?
