Jannik Sinner v Adrian Mannarino Head to Head

There has been one previous meeting between these two before this and it was won by Sinner. The match came at the 2020 Sofia Open.

Sinner Returns after Umag Title

After a strong showing at Wimbledon where Sinner almost managed to make it past Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinal, the Italian opted to feature on the clay courts of Umag.

It was a smooth passage for Sinner through to the final where he took on the 3/5 favourite and the most recent toast of men’s tennis, Carlos Alcaraz. Alacaraz did start off the way one would have expected with a first set win but Sinner came back to win the next two with ease and with that, the title.

What Sinner would now want is to kick things off on the hard courts of Canada with a sparkling performance as he looks to prepare for the final Grand Slam of the season.

Sinner has never made the fourth round at the US Open and will hope he can make a strong debut in Canada which helps him build a solid foundation heading into the last Grand Slam of the season.

Mannarino Eases Past Rinderknech

Mannarino had earlier needed two qualifying wins to make it to the main draw of this competition and he continued with that form against fellow French qualifier Arthur Rinderknech too.

The world number 70 crushed Rinderknech 6-3, 6-3 in an hour and 18 minutes to proceed to the second round where he will take on the in-form Sinner.

Coming into this match, Mannarino had featured in both, the Atlanta Open and Washington Open and performed rather well. At the former, he made the main draw as a lucky loser but then reached the quarterfinal where Alex de Minaur got the better of him.

And then in Washington, he fell to Grigor Dimitrov in the second round of that tournament.

Can he put up a fight against Sinner?

Sinner v Mannarino Prediction and Tip

Sinner is a heavy favourite to go deep into this competition and Mannarino does not look like he has the weapons to pose any kind of threat to the Italian.

Tip: Sinner to win in straight sets: 1/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
