Botic van de Zandschulp v Benjamin Bonzi Head to Head

There has been no previous meeting between these two players at the highest level. In 2020, they did face off on the Challenger circuit where van de Zandschulp won in straight sets.

Munar No Match for van de Zandschulp

Following a first round bye and a second round win over Tallon Griekspoor, van de Zandschulp did not waste a lot of time on court for his third round match either.

The Dutchman came through easily 6-3, 6-3 against van de Zandschulp to seal off his last eight berth, needing a tick over an hour and a half on court.

Van de Zandschulp did have a few troubles in his third round encounter, losing a 3-1 advantage in the first set, and then again dropping serve at 2-0 up in the second.

On both occasions though, van de Zandschulp broke back soon after – twice in the first set and once in the second – to ensure he wasn’t left to do a lot of work in a possible third set.

Can he now make it to his first ATP semifinal since the Queen’s Club competition played on grass earlier this year?

Bonzi Skips Past Monteiro

Like van de Zandschulp, Bonzi also had a first round bye. And after dismantling Kyle Edmund in the second round, Bonzi came through in another straight-set win over Thiago Monteiro in the third.

The Frenchman won 7-5, 6-2 and was on court for an hour and 28 minutes in a bid to register that victory.

Bonzi made a slow start to the match as he fell 1-3 behind in the first set but that was about as close that Monteiro got to taking the initiative in the encounter.

Because Bonzi soon broke back to even things out, and followed it up by breaking his opponent as he served to stay in the set at 5-6.

The second set was a lot easier for the world number 50, who raced ahead by winning four games in a row to wrap up the encounter.

Can Bonzi now take down van de Zandschulp as well?

van de Zandschulp v Bonzi Prediction and Tip

On paper, van de Zandschulp should have no trouble getting past Bonzi and given that the Dutchman hasn’t won an ATP title in his career, he should also not have too many difficulties finding motivation to do that. Straight-setter for van de Zandschulp.
