At just 18 years old, World No. 12 Cori Coco Gauff is set to make her US Open quarterfinal debut. She has thrived beautifully amidst the support from the home crowd this past week as she brushed aside her competition in straight sets.

Garcia in Imperious Form
Caroline Garcia is having one of the best seasons of her career. The 28-year-old has three singles titles in 2022 – the most she has won in any calendar year – and a singles ranking of #17.
She is also on a 12-match win streak – starting with her Cincinnati Open title as a qualifier. She kicked it up a notch at the Flushing Meadows by beating Kamilla Rakhimova, Anna Kalinskaya, Bianca Andreescu, and Alison Riske-Amritraj – all in straight sets.
This level of tenacity and efficiency is rare for Caroline.
But if there was a time for it to happen, this would be it. Garcia is now 39-15 as she continues to build on her recent success and wins over the likes of Petra Kvitova, Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula, and Maria Sakkari.
This is also the first time for Garcia in the US Open quarterfinal.
Clearly, she is highly experienced and is no stranger to beating the elites on the tour. Plus, she beat Gauff in the French Open doubles final this year to bag the title with Kristina Mladenovic.
Perhaps, she can translate that doubles success into a singles win here.
