When Does US Open 2022 Third Round Action Begin?
Half of the quarterfinal matches at the 2022 US Open will be played on Tuesday, September 6 with all of the singles matches to be held at the Arthur Ashes Stadium in Flushing Meadows, New York.
The afternoon session of today’s play will kick-start with the fifth seeded Casper Ruud taking on Italy’s Matteo Berrettini, who is one of the two players from his country to have made it to the last eight.
Following this, the fifth women’s seed Ons Jabeur takes to court as she takes on the Serena Williams vanquisher Ajla Tomljanovic for a place in the last four.
Cori Gauff, who is seeded 12th in the tournament and aiming to win her first ever Grand Slam, will kick-start the evening session with her match against the 17th-seeded and in-form Caroline Garcia. Garcia is on a 12-match winning streak and with Gauff tipped to be the next big name in the women’s tennis world, this could be a battle to watch out.
The last match of the day in the singles draw will have Aussie maverick Nick Kyrgios face Karen Khachanov for a place in his second successive Grand Slam semifinal.
