Hubert Hurkacz v Lorenzo Sonego Head to Head
Sonego leads 2-1 on the tour and 3-2 overall as they split a match each at the lower level. Most recently they met twice in 2020 with both winning a match each.

Defending champion Hubert Hurkacz extended his unbeaten run in Metz to six matches as he cruised past Arthur Rinderknech in the quarterfinal on Friday.
The World no. 10 dominated the French player, serving 12 aces and winning 85% points on his first serve. He saved the only break point that he faced in the match and converted 3 of 6 that he held to win the 67-minute contest 6-3, 6-2.
Hurkacz is yet to be broken in the tournament. After receiving a first-round bye, the No. 2 seed had beaten Dominic Thiem 6-3, 6-4 in the second round on Thursday.
With the two wins the Pole improved to 35-16 in 2022.
The five-time tour-level champion will now be hoping to reach a seventh final of his career and a third this year. He had won the title in Halle this year and finished runner-up in Montreal.

Sonego Dumps Out Korda
Facing Hurkacz will be Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego, who, too, has not dropped a set in the tournament so far.
The World No. 65 needed an hour and 29 minutes to beat the United States’ Sebastian Korda 6-4, 6-4 in the quarterfinal on Friday.
Sonego won 81% points on the back of his first serve, saved both the break points that he faced and broke the American once in each set to march into his second semifinal of the year. Earlier he had made it to the final four in Buenos aires.
A two-time champion on the tour, he will be looking to reach a fifth final of his career. Sonego had begun his campaign in Metz with a straight sets win over Aslan Karatsev. He didn’t drop a set in the second match either beating Gilles Simon 7-6 (7-2), 6-4.
He is 21-24 on the tour. Can he improve that record further on Saturday?

Although Sonego has a better record, Hurkacz is the favourite to win this contest. The Italian may take a set, but the defending champion should march on.
