Brandon Nakashima v Christopher O’Connell

In the early hours of Sunday if you’re time zone is Central European Time, Nakashima will take on O’Connell. It’s a fascinating matchup between two players who have played really well. O’Connell is playing in his maiden ATP semi-final after a superb week and some amazing tennis.

His groundstrokes have always been tricky to handle but when he added a strong serve this year things became quite complicated for his opponents. Nakashima can certainly counter him and he’ll have the full support behind him as a player native to San Diego.

A very close matchup is expected and I agree with that. I do think Nakashima should be favoured because he’s simply shown it more often.

His consistency is better and he’s playing at home on courts he knows really well. I don’t see the American winning in two sets though, so back it in three.

Tip: Nakashima to win in three sets: 5/2 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Jelena Ostapenko v Ekaterina Alexandrova

A very fascinating final is awaiting us in Seoul as Ostapenko will take on Alexandrova. Both of them have played really well to get to the final but the run by Ostapenko is hardly a surprise. She’s been very strong on hard courts this year with a 17-8 record and a 30-15 record overall.

She’s also a former champion of this event having won it a couple of years ago now she’s looking to do it again. Alexandrova is played a strong season as well with her overall record being 31-16, so quite similar to her opponent. Her hard court record is a bit weaker though and is only 11-9.

She had the easier route to the final playing against weaker opponents but she was also more sturdy not dropping a single set. The H2H favoured her as she leads it 4-2 with the only match this year going to Alexandrova. All the others happened a while ago so it’s hard to say how much they will matter.

Ostapenko is favoured to win it but backing the over might be a smarter choice because I don’t know if she’ll get it done.

Tip: Over 20.5 Games: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Liudmila Samsonova v Qinwen Zheng

Another interesting matchup awaits us in the Tokyo final as Samsonova takes on Zheng. These two tennis players have been absolutely spectacular so far this year with major breakout season for both of them. Samsonova holds a 27-15 record this year but her form in recent weeks is what really sticks out.

Zheng has a more impressive record of 36-15 but she’s also played a lot more than her opponents. She has a chance to become the best-ranked Chinese player with a triumph and she’s fairly young being born in 2022. A very bright career is ahead of her.

Both play very similarly with powerful serves and strong groundstrokes so basically the match will be won by the player who does those things better than the opponent. It’s really hard to pick which might win so I think we’ll see three sets as both will take turn dominating a part of the match.

Samsonova is favoured by the odds but I could see Zheng winning this one. Tough to say so we’ll go for 3 sets.

Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
