Lorenzo Sonego had an amazing week in Metz and at the time of writing this piece, he’s set to play in the final. It’s impossible to know at the moment whether he will win that match but his performances have been superb and he’s almost unbeatable.

Before Metz, he was firmly in the negative in that regard. Indoors has been good to him in the past and if he wins the trophy in Metz, he’ll come to Sofia in high spirits.

Zapata Mirallas Makes Indoor Return
It’s been months since Bernabe Zapata Mirallas last played in these conditions but he’s been fairly solid in the past. This year has been a very strong one for him overall with a 44-27 but it’s important to note that 38 of those wins have come on clay.
He does not have much experience playing on hard but when he played he was solid. His game consists of very solid groundstrokes and he’s really quick around the courts. He doesn’t have too much power, certainly not as much as Sonego and his serve isn’t as good but he moves far better around the court.
That could be a positive for him because he can push the ball back and force Sonego to overhit which often results in mistakes.
Zapata has consistency issues of his own so he will need to eliminate those if he hopes to win this match. I think he’ll make it interesting.

Most players struggle after winning a trophy and I certainly expect that to happen in this one as well. Zapata can win this match but the safer bet would be to take the over.
