Jule Niemeier v Jasmine Paolini Head to Head

Niemeier, Looking Sharp
Germany’s rising star Jule Niemeier has been absolutely brilliant in Cluj-Napoca this week. Starting with a straight-set upset of the third seed Ana Bogdan, she moved on to next dismiss Kamilla Rakhimova 6-4, 6-4.
The 23-year-old is now set to compete in her third WTA final of the season, the others being in Wimbledon and Lausanne. In both those cases, she couldn’t make it past that round.
But here in Romania, she has a decent chance of going further. Since her stint in Lausanne, Niemeier reached the fourth round in the US Open – beating Sofia Kenin, Yulia Putintseva, and Qinwen Zheng en route.
Now ranking World No. 74, Jule has come a long way in 2022 with a title from the ITF and Challenger circuit. She is comfortable on all surfaces and has been more consistent than her Italian adversary.

Paolini in yet Another QF
Ranking just four places below Niemeier, Jasmine Paolini has a chance to close the season on a high note.
She is set to compete in the third quarterfinal of her last four tournaments – the last one being in Parma. Earlier in the season, Paolini reached the semifinal in Warsaw and Palermo.
She has a strong clay-court pedigree, but she can thrive on hard courts if need be – considering her sole WTA title from Portoroz last year.
Jasmine’s year-to-date record stands at 23-23, compared to Niemeier’s 39-20.
So far in Cluj-Napoca, she has dispatched the likes of Marta Kostyuk and Dayana Yastremska.
Paolini v Niemeier Prediction and Tip
Niemeier has a good chance of bagging this one, considering her overall form and momentum. The match may see a few too many games but ultimately, the German should reach the semis with ease.
