Paula Badosa v Danielle Collins Head to Head

Badosa and Collins have never faced off in a competitive match before this.

Badosa Breaks Three-Match Losing Streak

It did not take Badosa too long to get past Louis Chirico in her second round match and in doing so, it broke her three-match losing streak that had seen her go down to Petra Martic at the US Open, Qinwen Zheng in Tokyo and Petra Kvitova in Ostrava.

Following a first round bye here, Badosa was on court for a mere 54 minutes in her 6-0, 6-3 demolition of her American opponent.

The first set was over in a wink with Badosa losing just two points on her serve while breaking Chirico three times. It took her just 19 minutes to grab on to it.

It was in the second set that Chirico got some of her own, going up a break on two separate occasions but Badosa broke right back both times. And soon after in the eighth game of the second set, Badosa got herself her sixth break of the match before wrapping things up to win it.

Can she now up the ante against the solid Collins?

Collins Tames Trevisan

Following her shock win over Caroline Garcia, Collins had absolutely no problems sending Martina Trevisan out of the competition in the second round.

Collins, who had started off the season with a title-decider appearance at the Australian Open before having a start-stop kind of a year, needed an hour and 24 minutes to carve out a 6-2, 6-4 win over her opponent.

In a match which saw a total of 11 breaks of serves, Collins raced off to a 5-0 lead before dropping her serve for the first time. She quickly broke back to wrap up the set but the second proved to be a bigger challenge as both players struggled to hold on to their serves.

Six breaks of serves brought Collins a 5-4 lead on serve but the American then broke Trevisan again to love to grab the quarterfinal berth.

Can Collins overcome her serving woes to stall the Badosa challenge?

Badosa v Collins Prediction and Tip
