Iga Swiatek v Cori Gauff Head to Head
Three previous matches have all resulted in wins for Swiatek. In fact, Gauff is yet to take a set off the world number one.
Their latest encounter was in the final of the French Open earlier year where Swiatek won 6-1, 6-3.
All of these matches have come on clay, making this the first on a hardcourt surface.

Qinwen Zheng is one of the fast-rising players in the world and it was a big surprise when she needed to qualify to make it to the main draw here.
More vitally, she had been dumped out in the qualifiers but came through as a lucky loser, before winning her first round match against Garbine Muguruza who retired after trailing 5-0.
Swiatek would have been looking to march into the quarterfinals after a first round bye but Zheng did not let it go easy, taking the world number to a third set. In the end, it took the Polish player two hours and 20 minutes but she came through 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
Having made the final at the Ostrava Open but lost to Barbora Krejcikova last week, Swiatek will hope she can go one step further this tournament and win her eighth title. Gauff, however, won’t be an opponent she can take for granted.

Gauff Needs Three against Andreescu
After easing into the second round with a straight-set win over Robin Montgomery, Gauff was taken to three sets in her second round win over Bianca Andreescu.
In a match lasting two hours and 31 minutes, Gauff dropped her serve a whopping four times but still came through 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 to set up the Swiatek meeting.
Gauff made a slow start as she dropped her serve in the very first game but levelled things out at 2-2 before making a crucial break as Andreescu served to stay in the first set.
The same pattern repeated in the second set but this time around, it was Gauff who felt the pressure at 4-4 as she lost her serve and the Canadian took advantage to dish out an equaliser.
For the third time in a row, Gauff did not have a good start as she lost her serve in the first game but clawed back on slowly to break back at 2-3 and 4-3 to clinch the encounter.

Swiatek v Gauff Prediction and Tip
Swiatek will kick-start as a favourite but odds of 1/2 represent this could be a tight match. Expect Swiatek to make it through but this time, Gauff might grab a set given the change of surface from clay to hard.
