Roberto Carballes Baena v Nicolas Jarry Live Head to Head

The Spaniard has played rather well this year posting a 48-32 record overall. He’s predominantly a clay player rarely playing on other surfaces but he did play in Florence last week and he played really well. His best match was against native player Matteo Berrettini who was not playing a strong match and lost.
The way the Spaniard turn around that match was kind of epic but Berrettni helped greatly as he was up 5-3 and then lost 5-7. On hard courts, Baena is 2-7 this year and it’s not a surface where he does really well as he lacks raw power and generally tries to force errors.
His playstyle is that of long rallies where he tries to force players to overhit and that will be the plan against Jarry. The Chilean certainly plays more aggressive than his opponent but it doesn’t always work out.
For Baena, it’s important to keep the service percentage high as his second one is rather weak.

Jarry’s Return to the ATP Tour
Nicolas Jarry was once suspended from the ATP Tour but the Chilean player made his way back. He’s nearly inside the top 100 where he was for a long time and he certainly has the talent to even make it all the way back to the top 50.
Jarry played many matches this year and the overwhelming majority of those came on clay. His overall score is 38-20 with his hard court record 8-4. One thing that benefits Jarry here is that he played two matches already in Napoli and did really well.
The serve is a good weapon to have in such conditions and the higher bounce of the ball certainly is the way he likes it as well.
He’ll need to be really sharp to win the match as Carballes Baena will know how to try and bait him into errors from their many matches.

This is a very interesting matchup that I think will be much closer than their last one. Jarry can win and so can Carballes Baena so I think the over is likely.
