Cameron Norrie v Pedro Cachin Head to Head

Cachin won their only meeting in Cordoba in 2019.

Norrie Three Away from Another 50-Win Season

World no. 13 Cameron Norrie is three wins away from a second consecutive 50-win season. Last year, the Briton went 52-25, winning two titles from six finals.

This year, the 27-year-old is 47-24 so far. He has featured in four finals, winning in Delray Beach and Lyon and finishing runner-up in Acapulco and Los Cabos. But despite dishing out solid performances on a consistent basis, Norrie’s recent form is a cause of concern.

Since losing in the fourth round of the U.S. Open, the left-hander has played seven matches, winning just three of them and losing four.

After winning just one of three Davis Cup matches, Norrie lost to Taylor Fritz at the Laver Cup and then won his second round matches in Korea and Stockholm. While he had to pull out before the quarterfinal in Seoul, he fell to Holger Rune in the quarters in the Swedish capital last week.

Norrie, who also reached a maiden Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon this year, has had two semifinal finishes and six quarterfinal finishes in addition to the four finals this year. So he will be looking to go deep in Venna as well, but his current form remains a concern.

Cachin Enters as Lucky Loser

Playing Norrie will be World no. 55 Pedro Cachin.

The Argentinian, who had beaten Alejandro Tabilo 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 in the first qualifying round, fell to France’s Quentin Halys 6-7 (6-8), 6-3, 3-6 in the second qualifying round.

However he still found a way into the main draw as a lucky loser.

A clay court specialist, Cachin has played the bulk of his matches on the surface and has very little experience of playing o hard courts. But on the tour he is 5-5 this year, with a 4-3 record on hard and 1-2 on clay.

However, he has played plenty of matches at the Challenger level, winning four titles from seven Challenger finals in 2022. And there is no surprise that all those seven finals were on clay.

In his most recent tournaments, he won the first round and lost the next in both Gijon and Napoli. Can he pull off a surprise on Tuesday?

Norrie v Cachin Prediction and Tip

Norrie is a far more accomplished player on hard courts and he has been wonderful touch throughout the year. Expect him to ease past the Argentine.
