Ons Jabeur v Maria Sakkari Head to Head
Sakkari leads 2-1, but Jabeur got the last laugh. They met recently in the 2022 Rome Open quarterfinals, where Ons prevailed in three sets.

Ons Jabeur, current World No. 2, is coming off a 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Jessica Pegula in the second robin-round match. This win follows a three-set loss over Aryna Sabalenka in the first round.
Heading into the Sakkari fixture, she knows what needs to be done to reach the semifinal. The match will be played after the Pegula-Sabalenka game – which means the equation will be crystal clear for the Tunisian.
It is quite simple – if Sabalenka means, Jabeur will need a win too. A straight-set win will do the trick, but a three-setter is on the cards – provided the Belarusian also wins her bout in three.
If Pegula beats Sabalenka, Jabeur needs just one set.
All of this is not an impossible ask of the current Wimbledon and US Open runner-up, who has had an astounding season in 2022 with several titles and runner-up feats.

Sakkari in Control
With two wins out of two, Sakkari is guaranteed a place in the semis. All that remains is her placement – whether she will finish first or second.
The Greek has not dropped a set so far, beating Pegula and Sabalenka with a combined game tally of 26-18.
At this stage, it is not uncommon for players to drop the ball and step back a bit to focus on the final matches. However, Sakkari is determined to see herself through with a perfect record in the robin round.
This will be Maria’s second time in a row to compete in the semis of the WTA Finals. Her consistency has been top-notch this year; most recently, she was the runner-up in the WTA 1000 Guadalajara.
Jabeur v Sakkari Prediction and Tip
This match can go either way. Jabeur’s motivation to win is much higher, and given her tenacity, she is the player to back in this race. Expect a brilliant encounter.
