Caroline Garcia v Daria Kasatkina Head to Head

It is 1-1 from their two meetings. Garcia won in Wuhan in 2019 and Kasatkina won in San Jose last year.

Garcia Falls to Swiatek

With Swiatek going through with two wins and Gauff missing out with two losses, it becomes a direct shootout between Caroline Garcia and Daria Kasatkina in the final round robin match of the Tracy Austin group. With both players going into the final contest with one win and one loss in the previous matches, the winner of Saturday’s fixture will go through to the semifinals while the loser’s season will come to an end.

Garcia was dominant in the first match against Coco Gauff, defeating the American 6-4 6-3. She wasn’t broken by the 18-year-old, as she saved both the break points that she faced and converted half of the eight that she held to win the opener.

But while she was dominant in the first match, she was outplayed by Swiatek in the second. The world no.  1 saved 5 of 6 break points and converted 4 of 5 to beat Garcia 6-3, 6-2.

The Frenchwoman was in sensational form throughout the year. During the 42-20 season, she won three titles in Bad Homburg, Poland Open and the Cincinnati Open. The three wins ended her three-year title drought. The world no. 6 had last one a title in 2019 in Nottingham, but thanks to the three wins she has now taken her total tally to 10 titles from 13 finals.

The U.S. Open semifinalist has seen a bit of dip in form over the last three tournaments, but she will be hoping to finish the incredible season in style by reaching the semifinals.

Kasatkina Beats Gauff

While Garcia is coming off a defeat in the last game, Kasatkina is coming off a win.

The world no. 8, who lost the opener to Iga Świątek in a one-sided opener, edged past Gauff in a gripping second match of the round robin stage.

While Gauff converted 5 of 8 break points, Kasatkina held 10 breaking chances in the match, and she capitalised on six of them to win the match 7-6 (8-6), 6-3.

The Russian, who won two titles this year at the Silicon Valley Classic and the Granby Open, is 41-21 this year. She has also lost four semifinals this year and will be aiming to reach the final four a seventh time with a win on Saturday.

Garcia v Kasatkina Prediction and Tip

Garcia has shown better form and consistency this season. She is a slight favourite in the contest and should make the semifinals.
