Novak Djokovic’s match against Daniil Medvedev was somewhat odd because the Serbian looked really tired during times in this match. He won the first set quite comfortable but then faltered towards the end losing in the tiebreak.
He looked exhausted and struggled breathing at times with Medvedev serving for the match at 5-4.
He got broken with Djokovic winning in the tiebreak. That was a bit odd to observe and leaves some questions marks for this match as it comes less than 24 hours after that one. Generally his tennis looked very good but he struggle mightily with his stamina yesterday.
If he’s able to look fresh and play well, Djokovic is the favourite for this one. He’s game is far more stable than Fritz and his serve is a major weapon when the court is quick as it is here. Him dominating Fritz in the past should also help here.

Fritz Eyeing Major Upset
Everything is kind of lining up perfectly for Taylor Fritz in this spot. He’s playing great and showing some amazing confidence on the quick courts of Paris. The serve is working really good and he actually had a day off between his last match and this one, something Djokovic won’t have.
It’s a much-needed one as he played over three hours against Auger-Aliassime and another long one is expected against Djokovic. Fritz has had some good matches against the Serbian in the past but he never defeated him, regardless of the surface they played.
I do think Fritz will keep it close because he must. He can’t allow himself to get broken because that will essentially mean the set is over. I also expect him to be very aggressive because that’s his best chance.
If Fritz shows up with a consistent performance anything can happen.
Djokovic v Fritz Prediction and Tip
Don’t be fooled and think that Fritz can’t win this match. He very much can and it will come down to how confident he is in his game. I do think he’ll keep it close so might even see two tiebreaks or three sets. Djokovic’s match yesterday leaves me a bit worried so I’ll pick the over on games.
