Caroline Wozniacki v Stefanie Voegele Head to Head

The two players have met only once so far and surprisingly, it is Voegele who won that sole encounter. They met in the quarterfinal of the 2013 WTA Charleston, where the Swiss won in three sets.

Wozniacki Falls Out of the Top 10

Caroline Wozniacki started this season as the World No. 3 but within a period of one month, she has slipped down to the 14th place. Her performance in the Australian Open and WTA Auckland was far from impressive, given that she lost in the early rounds.

In Auckland, the 28-year-old lost to Bianca Andreescu while in Melbourne, she was defeated by Maria Sharapova in the third round.

The Dane was also scheduled to play in Qatar last week but she withdrew from the competition owing to a viral illness. Needless to mention, she isn’t having the best of the season right now but that doesn’t mean that she cannot go the distance in Dubai. She is among the most experienced players in the field right now but it is to be seen how she faces the challenge, especially after her lack of momentum.

Last year, she won the Australian Open and China Open, along with reaching the fourth round at the Roland Garros.

Voegele Seeking her First Win of the Season

The Swiss, who is currently the World No. 83, has so far lost all of her opening matches on the WTA Tour this season. She played in Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, and most recently, Hua Hin. In the last case, she succumbed to Ajla Tomljanovic in straight sets.

In Dubai, she started as a qualifier but made it to the main draw after winning her qualifying fixtures in straight sets. The last time she won the main draw round on the WTA circuit was in Seoul last year and back then, the best she could do was reach the second round.

She spent most of her season alternating between the WTA and ITF circuits, with some luck in the latter. She won an ITF event in Contrexeville, France – her one and only title of the season.

Wozniacki v Voegele Predictions & Tips

By all means, Wozniacki will start this match as the favourite to win and for this, Unibet are offering 2/13. However, given her recent form, Voegele can very well deliver an upset here.

You can watch & bet on Caroline Wozniacki v Stefanie Voegele on Monday, February 18. The match will be held after 7 pm local time.
