Marin Cilic v Roberto Carballes-Baena Head to Head
The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the 34 year old Croat, and the Spaniard, who is five years younger.

As the top seed, Cilic earned himself a bye in the first round.
However, he will be confident of another good season, having enjoyed his best campaign for several years in 2022, although he did not add to his haul of 20 career titles.
He came close, reaching the final in Tel Aviv, but was beaten by Novak Djokovic in straight sets.
Other noticeable achievements included reaching the semi-final of the French Open and notching up his 550th career win, one of just a handful of active players to have reached that landmark.
He also took world number one Carlos Alvarez to five sets at the US Open, before eventually losing their fourth round match.
His last competitive matches were in the Davis Cup, where he lost to Alex de Minaur but beat Pablo Carreno-Busta.

Carballes-Baena Beats Compatriot Zapata Miralles
On the face of it, Csrballes-Baena was handed a tough looking opening draw in Pune, playing fellow Spaniard and clay court specialist Bernabe Zapata Miralles, ranked two places higher than him in the world.
But he got off to the best possible start with a break in the opening game of the match, and having saved a break back point, consolidated his lead with two further breaks, as he cruised through the first set.
Zapata Miralles showed more fight in the second set, and had two break points of his own saved, before he was broken once more.
He responded though by finally breaking the Carballes-Baena serve, but then had to save two match points on his own serve.
His reprieve was short-lived though, Carballes-Baena earned himself two more match points, the second of which he converted.
Cilic v Carballes-Baena Prediction and Tip
Cilic will be looking to begin the new year on a positive note, and will be confident of beating a man more at home on clay.
