Leylah Fernadez v Julia Grabher

Leylah Fernandez had a tremendous start to her 2023 campaign as the Canadian smashes up-and-coming player Brenda Fruhvirtova 6-1 6-1. It demonstrated peak Fernandez tennis as she dominated rallies with her killer forehand and generally outplayed the Czech player.

Fernandez has always been a very aggressive player and she likes to attack most of the time. It works well down under due to the speed of the courts being such that it allows playing that way. She’ll look to keep that going against a player who is not that well-equipped for hard court tennis.

Last year has been disappointing with injuries so she’s excited to be back playing and Grabher will have a tough time matching her energy. They never played before but it seems like Grabher will be able to stay with her well enough to push the games to the over.

Tip: Over 19.5 games in the match: 22/25 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Bianca Andreescu v Veronika Kudermetova

Andreescu and Kudermetova never played before so this promises to be a very exciting affair that either player can win. Andreescu had an unlikely comeback win over Muguruza that should fill her with a lot of confidence however dealing with Kudermetova will be tough.

The Russian played far better than Andreescu in the opening round her demolition of Anisimova did not go unnoticed. Expect her to bring that tenacity to this matchup as well as she hopes to keep going and pushing to the top 10.

There is a very good chance that this match goes to three sets because Andreescu plays so up and down but I do think we will see Kudermetova win the match in the end. She just looked a tiny bit sharper than Andreescu and I think she can do it.

Tip: Kudermetova to win the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Karen Khachanov v Jack Draper

Another interesting matchup is that between Khachanov and Draper. Both players played well in round one and earned very convincing victories. Both players generally play well on hard courts and have similar games. A powerful serve and good groundstrokes.

They played once before but they never finished that matchup. It was at the US Open and Khachanvo had the upper hand in that match but Draper was dealing with an injury so it’s not really a good indication. It’s going to be a close matchup though.

We can safely assume that the over is a very good bet simply because this matchup could go to three sets as both players tend to struggle with consistency. Khachanov generally plays a lot of 3-set matches and he delivers on the over often so we’ll back that.

Tip: Over 22.5 games: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
