Lorenzo Musetti has been a reliable team member of this Italy team at the United Cup. In his three singles matches, the 20-year-old one-hander has lived up to the billing of pre-match favorite.
Musetti opened up his campaign with wins over Felipe Alves and Viktor Durasovic in the group stages. Then in the knock-out phase, he helped establish a 1-0 lead for his country by thumping Daniel Michalski of Poland 6-1 6-1.
The Next Gen star had the superior weight of shot and bamboozled Michalski who is two years his senior with some fabulous power off the ground to break serve three times in the first set.
Things only got worse for Michalski who saw winners fly past him with embarrassing ease. Although Italy lost the tie, they managed to qualify at the expense of Croatia and Great Britain in the Hosty City Finals as the losing finalist with the best record.

Pervolarakis Set for Recall
Michail Pervolarakis is set for a recall as Greece look to make it to the final of the United Cup. There was a change of nomination in their tie against Poland at the Host City Finals, as the relatively-unknown Stefanos Sakellaridis was brought in to face Borna Gojo in a crucial rubber.
It was a logical and bold move from the Greeks despite Sakellaridis’ novice status on the ATP Tour. The 18-year-old scored a major upset when he defeated World No. 129 Zizou Bergs for the biggest win of his life. And he did it by coming from a set down to win in three.
But Greece’s chances almost went up in smoke by that move as Sakellaridis failed to reprise that result and was physically not up task to take on an efficient Gojo in the fourth singles rubber.
Luckily for them, Tsitsipas and Sakkari stepped up to the plate to win their mixed doubles rubber that clinched their qualification to the last four.
Musetti v Pervolarakis Prediction and Tip
Musetti has been in picture-perfect form at this United Cup. Bar Team USA, the No. 2 ranked players of the opposition teams remaining are unlikely to be cause for concern for Musetti. Expect the 20-year-old to dish out another drubbing.
