Soon-woo Kwon v Mikael Ymer Head to Head

Lucky Loser Kwon Continues His Run

Kwon looked to have one eye on packing his luggage for his next flight after falling in the second round of the qualifiers to Tomas Machac this Monday. Three days on, he is still hanging around as he looks to prepare for his upcoming quarterfinal match.

This was after Kwon avenged his loss to Machac by defeating him in the first round, having qualified for the main draw as a lucky loser.

And just when one thought Roberto Bautista Agut would be too good for him, Kwon came back from a set down to shock the world number 15. Kwon won 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in a match that lasted two hours and 22 minutes.

Kwon now takes on the challenge of a fellow qualifier which gives him a good chance of making it through to a rare ATP semifinal.

Ymer Makes it Four in a Row

After missing out on featuring in any of the ATP tournaments last week, Ymer looked to get going with his season with the qualifiers at this week’s Adelaide International.

He ousted Nikoloz Basilashvili and Jordan Thompson in straight sets to make it to the main draw but it has been there that Ymer’s performances have surprised a few.

Starting out against Emil Ruusuvuori, Ymer needed three sets to defeat his opponent and enter round two. And on Wednesday, the Swede came back from a set and 3-0 down, to saving a match-point before squeaking past Mackenzie McDonald in the second round.

The match lasted nearly three hours and that could prove to be a factor here Ymer looks to feature in his fifth match in as many days.

Kwon v Ymer Prediction and Tip

There isn’t much to choose between these two with Ymer starting out a bit of a favourite here at 8/11 but Kwon’s experience expected to keep him in the match. Three-set match expected here.
