Daria Kasatkina v Belinda Bencic

In a bizarre turn of events Kasatkina and Bencic secured the final in Adelaide due to their opponents withdrawing before the match.

Neither of them played a match on Friday and will enter the final following their wins in the quarter-final. That hasn’t happened many times and it’s certainly going to be a factor in this matchup, especially for Bencic. She’s the more streaky player and relies far more on tennis rhythm and this could impact that.

Kasatkina is far more reliant on her smarts and she’s going to have an advantage here in my opinion. It’s a close match to call as Kasatkina leads the H2H 3-2 so far but they haven’t played at all in 2022. Bencic played more this year as has a 4-1 record compared to Kasatkina’s 2-1 one.

Due to the nature of the final and the circumstances we think that an over is a good option because we might see three sets in this match. I don’t think either is playing much better than the other.

Tip: Over 19.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Cameron Norrie v Richard Gasquet

Cameron Norrie will get a second chance to win the Auckland event after losing in the final a few years ago. The opponent will be a player that played many finals (over 30) in his career so it will be tricky.

Norrie grew up in Auckland and has been playing really well all week long. It was not a perfect week and he had some minor slips but seeing his family in the stands always helped him bounce back in a strong fashion. It’s hard to see him messing this up, especially against an older player that hasn’t played in a final recently.

Gasquet was a superb player at his peak but he’s far removed from that. Still, thanks to a withdrawal, he was able to book a final without having to play in the semi-final. Whether that helped remains to be seen but having more rest time is beneficial at his age.

Everything is in Norrie’s favour though and I don’t see him messing this up. Back the Brit to get it done comfortably.

Tip: Under 21.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Bautista Agut – Soon-woo Kwon

Roberto Bautista Agut is the better player here so it’s not hard to see why he’s heavily favoured to get this done. The Spaniard has been looking very good for the second week in a row in Adelaide. He didn’t win the trophy last week but he’ll hope to get it done this year as he faces a player who is not on his level at the moment.

Kwon did really well to make it to this stage and he’s been playing some amazing tennis to start the year. A 7-2 record certainly shows that but that workload might actually come back to haunt him against a player like Bautista. Stylistically it’s a tough matchup for Kwon.

Bautista hits the ball flat and very clean on both sides. A lot of precision as opposed to power which is tough to handle. I do think Kwon could win this first meeting between them but he’ll need something more than what he showed so far.

I could see it going to three sets but I still think Bautista will get it done.

Tip: Bautista Agut to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
