Holger Rune v Marc-Andrea Huesler

Holger Rune makes his return to the indoor courts of France where he shined last year. The last time he stood on one of these he was beating Novak Djokovic to lift his maiden ATP 1000 trophy in Paris. A few months later he’ll be battling it out for the Montpellier trophy.

The opponent is a tricky one. One that can play really well indoors and one with a really strong and dangerous serve. They played twice so far and Huesler beat him both times. Both matches were played last year and one was on Rune’s favourite surface – clay with the second coming in an ATP final – Sofia.

That’s not to be taken lightly no matter how strong Rune looked recently. He’s pretty strong, a top-10 player who will challenge for grand slams even this year. He’s also extremely passionate about tennis so expect a very motivated Rune here.

I fully believe Rune to win this match and take his revenge. However, this is still an indoor court and I think Huesler can push the over on games. It’s risky but worth a try.

Tip: Over 20.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Camila Giorgi v Clara Tauson

This is an explosive matchup on paper and it will be interesting to see whether see an explosive match on the court as well. Both are coming into this one after straight-set wins in the previous round. Giorgi took down Cristian while Tauson beat Begu.

Both are very attacking players so expect this one to feature plenty of short rallies and plenty of winners. Even more than winners, we might see unforced errors and it’s going to come down to who is more stable throughout the match. I think Tauson is a bit more likely as it was the case the last time they played.

The Danish player leads 1-0 beating her in Lyon two years ago. That was the week Tauson won her only trophy so far and she’s generally a bit better equipped for indoor tennis compared to Giorgi.

The odds favour her and we’ll back her to win the match as well. She’s just a bit more consistent in what she does than Giorgi.

Tip: Tauson to win: 5/7 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Elena Rybakina v Karolina Pliskova

The Australian Open runner-up plays her first match since losing the Australian Open and many wonder how she will look like. The opponent is a very tricky one – Pliskova. She’s already played a match and won it comfortably showing that she’s slowly making her way back to form.

They played twice so far and both times it was Rybakina who won the match. The one last year was pretty close in Guadalajara and I think we get a similar one tomorrow.

Both of them had a good start to the year as Pliskova has a 7-3 record as does Rybakina. Both serve well well at times but not consistently and both have a heavy game that is very streaky; at times brilliant but then sometimes you’d rather turn off the TV.

Very hard to call especially with Rybakina having to play the qualifiers over the weekend for the Doha next week. The over seems like a good bet overall.

Tip: Ramos-Vinolas to win: 8/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
