Stan Wawrinka v Alexander Bublik

Stan Wawrinka will take on Alexander Bublik in the first round one the Rotterdam open and it’s a really tricky matchup for both players. Both can play really well indoors due to the serve and the serve is what will decide this one.

Wawrinka will be the more serious player and probably more stable overall although we can safely say that Bublik can hit a higher peak. Both are playing okay at the moment, nothing special from either. Bublik is actually 0-7 so far this year while Wawrinka is only 2-3.

They played three times so far and Bublik leads 2-1 although the final one played this year went to Wawrinka in two sets. I do think there is solid value on Wwarinka once more because he can do a lot of damage with his serve in conditions like these.

I expect a close match, an over on the games most likely but also Wawrinka to win it in the end.

Tip: Wawrinka to win: 9/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Barbora Krejcikova v Veronika Kudermetova

This R1 matchup shows us how strong of an event this one in Doha is. Such a matchup in R1 is incredible and it’s going to be a good one. They played twice so far and both won one match. Kudermetova was the one that won last year as she generally had a better year than Krejcikova.

The Czech player is back to a solid rhythm having a 5-3 record so far. Her opponent posted a slightly better 6-3 record. Both enjoy these conditions as both love to play on hard courts and have flat groundstrokes that can do a lot of damage in these conditions.

The serve is something that might prove a factor and it’s hard to pick who has a better one. I think Krejcikova can be quite impressive in that regard but so can Kudermetova. They are both somewhat streaky and it’s going to come down to who has a better day.

In a situation like that, backing the over sounds like a good idea.

Tip: Over 18.5 games: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Grigor Dimitrov v Aslan Karatsev

Another interesting matchup in Rotterdam will be between Grigor Dimitrov and Aslan Karatsev. Both players started similarly this year with Dimitrov having a 4-2 record and Aslan Karatsev having a 5-3 record. The Russian will have the advantage of playing in the qualifiers here but Dimitrov knows these courts well.

The H2H favours Dimitrov as he won 2 of the three matches they played so far and they actually played in Australia recently. It was a 3-0 win for Dimitrov but the first two sets were quite close, something that I expect to see in these conditions.

The value play is in the over because Dimitrov is favoured and he’ll likely win but on his best day, Karatsev could certainly do damage.

It’s a better odd, it’s quite likely so back the over and enjoy the match. If you need to side with one player, side with Dimitrov.
